Language courses in Cape Town

Cape Town, known for its excellent location, great cultural diversity, a relaxed and cosmopolitan flair and wide-ranging leisure activities, attracts visitors from all over the world throughout the year. South Africa has 11 official and equally recognised languages. Even though the government promotes all 11 languages, English is the language most commonly understood in South Africa. With English being the primary language of business and commerce, Cape Town is a perfect place for those who want to learn and improve their English skills at a very reasonable price.

A language course in Cape Town offers a great opportunity to improve your English skills and to meet people from all over the world at the same time.

Language programmes and opportunities

As with many things in the popular Mother City, there is also a variety of language schools to choose from. To help find the best school, we would like to introduce a language school, based in the city centre of Cape Town, that goes beyond standard methods of English teaching and learning and that offers different language programmes. The school has taken on the rising globalisation and thus the need to understand cultural diversity and offers students a combination of "learning English" and "experiencing cultural diversity". As a student you are given the opportunity to learn English not only in the classroom, but also during excursions where you can also gain insights into and experience Cape Town's cultural diversity. Thus you can learn and improve your English skills while broadening your horizon, understanding culturally diverse ways of life and gaining intercultural competences.

The implementation of the concept is of high quality. The English courses are run by highly qualified local teachers and are based on internationally recognized learning materials (such as Oxford University Press' Headway) and Cape Town or South Africa related materials from books, newspapers, Internet, etc. The English courses are combined with a practical language, culture and discovery programme. In addition to classroom-based lessons in the morning, excursions and cultural activities take place in the afternoon.

The English courses vary from 20 to 34 hours per week, tailor-made language courses and examination preparation (TOEFL, CAE, CPE, etc.). For a detailed course list please send us an email with the following information and we will gladly send you the current course and price list.

Susanne

We have successfully placed and supported over hundreds of volunteers, interns and language course students over the last ten years. Seeing them succeed in gaining international experiences and adapting to a new cultural environment is most rewarding. It is my passion to share my own volunteer experience with our programme participants and to help them gain intercultural experience.

Friendly faces, open-minded people, beautiful surroundings, fantastic weather, great food and good vibes. If you can find so much positives over a city in less than five seconds that’s Cape Town, my home.
